Parallel Space is a documentary exploring alternatives to state power in a time of institutional collapse. Director Martin Piga, disillusioned by broken democratic promises in post-communist Slovakia, sets out to investigate whether true autonomy is possible – beyond protest, beyond reform. Guided by crypto-anarchist Pavol Lupták, the film follows digital nomads, voluntarists, and decentralist thinkers building parallel structures outside traditional authority. Interwoven with philosophical insights, historical resistance, and the imagery, the film challenges the idea that the state is the only way to organize society.
